Cyclists on footpaths need more discipline, especially at bus stops

With Singapore’s limited land, this is the right way to go; it calls for understanding and cooperation between pedestrians and cyclists. The latter, however, must be more disciplined.
I have witnessed several near misses as cyclists whizzed through bus bays, whether or not there were people, including elders and toddlers in tow. These cyclists must understand that the bus stop is a spot where many of us just look out for our bus and rush to board or to alight as usual.
I have also witnessed cyclists dismounting and pushing their bicycle behind the bus stop instead. I hope the authorities pay more attention to cyclists using footpaths, especially at bus stops, to prevent accidents.
