I thank SkillsFuture Singapore for its reply “Platforms available for everyone to create online courses” (Jan 23) and applaud the agency for developing the Learning Space platform to promote online courses, share knowledge and help achieve cost-effective learning for life.

We could further develop the Learning Space into a one-stop portal with all the SkillsFuture-approved courses for Singaporeans. SkillsFuture Singapore could encourage our working adults and retired professionals to create courses on the platform.

The agency could vet the courses and approve selected ones to be eligible for SkillsFuture credits. Singaporeans could then find courses eligible for the credits in one portal, instead of needing to browse different platforms like Udemy, Coursera and Lynda.

Moreover, this would help create another benefit if the Learning Space becomes a platform for our retirees from different sectors to share knowledge for free or a small fee, thus becoming a possible source of income for them.

It would be a win-win situation for our economy and for our seniors to continue leading a fulfilling, sustainable retirement, now and in future.
