Ensure timely bus departures at interchanges
The trial displaying real-time data on buses will help commuters already on their journey to plan ahead of their ultimate destination, provided the data are accurate (“Trial to test display of more real-time data on buses: LTA”; Dec 9).

But I would rather the Land Tranport Authority focus on the time buses depart from the interchanges. In my experience, the schedule is still elastic, despite public complaints.
If the starting time of the journey is not adhered to, why display it? Perhaps the LTA should penalise operators that do not keep to the schedule at bus interchanges.
If the timings are too tight and impractical, they should be tweaked and relaxed, which commuters would not begrudge so long as buses arrive at the scheduled times so they can plan their journey well.
