Features for a better bus ride — how about trains next?

With an additional exit, bus passengers will be able to reach the doors and alight faster, compared with the current bottleneck.

Waiting times will be cut, especially during peak hours.

Having an extra staircase at the back of the bus will be of great help too, as the staircase leads directly to one of the exit doors. I hope this will make travelling on buses more efficient and safer.

It is thus a good way to appeal to passengers and encourage them to fill the inner seats first.

Over the years, much has improved in Singapore’s transport system, and it is still getting better.

Perhaps in future, it would be possible to introduce features such that MRT passengers move to the centre of the train cabins.
