Fort Canning Park with Founders’ Memorial would be delightful to visit

Multiracialism, bilingualism, cohesive living and the upliftment of Singaporeans’ spirits are embedded in the miracle of making Singapore great (“Islandwide events mark Mr Lee’s death anniversary”; March 21).

Multiracialism, bilingualism, cohesive living and the upliftment of Singaporeans’ spirits are embedded in the miracle of making Singapore great (“Islandwide events mark Mr Lee’s death anniversary”; March 21).

The Van Kleef Aquarium and National Theatre are no longer at Fort Canning Park, but I would be delighted to visit the place in remembrance of Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s and our pioneers’ core values, which live on and inspire us.

A Founders’ Memorial there would be a tribute to our founding leaders and would showcase Singapore’s milestones. It should be included in national education in schools, and also be attractive to tourists.

As we navigate our 51st year of nationhood, let us embrace and respect diversity and inclusiveness while protecting and nurturing our children, which is a top priority for parents.

Imponderables and challenges may arise, but if they can be resolved promptly and efficiently, the country can continue to thrive in the next five decades.
