Help PSA pensioners with MediShield Life premiums

PSA Corporation pensioners are in a predicament because of MediShield Life. They enjoy the same benefits as government pensioners, in that the employer bears their medical expenses, with co-payment for hospital ward charges capped at 20 per cent, for example.

To force them to join the MediShield Life scheme is therefore not logical.

So that no government pensioner will lose out, the Government agreed rightfully to pay their premiums. However, in the case of pensioners from PSA (a statutory board corporatised in 1997), no one has come forward to pay the premiums.

As the days draw nearer to implementing MediShield Life, this group of pensioners are resigned to their fate. I hope the relevant authority could consider their plight.
