We thank Mr Steven Chen for his letter “Why not publish hourly PSI readings?” (Oct 10). The National Environment Agency updates the one-hour PM2.5 raw concentration levels every hour.

This information is on the NEA haze microsite (http://www.haze.gov.sg/haze-updates/pollutant-concentrations) and the MyENV app, which can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play.

The one-hour PM2.5 raw concentration levels may be highly variable when the wind drives smoke haze from place to place. Nevertheless, the public may refer to these short-term levels before embarking on strenuous exercise.
