We thank Mr Andrew Pang for sharing his recent experience of signing up for fibre broadband service. (“Protect broadband consumers better”; Nov 14, online)

The installation delay by NetLink Trust was due to a lack of surplus fibre lines at his block.

NetLink Trust had previously installed fibre lines to serve each unit in the block, and has since completed the installation of a second line to his home.

MyRepublic has since contacted him to expedite the provision of fibre services to his residence.

The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) has imposed Quality of Service standards on NetLink Trust, which require it to meet service orders within certain service quality standards and time frames.

The IDA will continue to monitor NetLink Trust’s performance against the standards set and work with fibre broadband service providers to improve consumer service levels.
