Kill dengue at the source

The National Environment Agency needs to take more preventive measures in its campaign against dengue.

For instance, flowerpot saucers containing stagnant water are still commonly found along residential corridors and mosquito larvae have been found in them from time to time.

Source reduction is the most effective technique in controlling the mosquito population. It also reduces the use of pesticide in our environment. Not every household will “Do the Mozzie Wipeout”.

If such breeding sources were removed, the large manpower needed to inspect such vessels can then be deployed to enforce other measures.
