Maintain concession fares for senior travellers

Although the suggestion in ‘Reduce fares for seniors with cheaper off-peak pass’ (April 18) is a good idea, the current maximum concession fare of 87 cents is already low compared with what regular commuters pay.

Seniors can plan their trips with transfers in mind to benefit fully from the concession fare. There is a 45-minute allowance between each transfer.

I would prefer there be no fare increase for seniors holding the concession card. This, too, would incentivise them to travel more and stay active. Harry Chia
