Make homework flexible to achieve the best result

I refer to the letter, “More homework not necessarily key to effective learning” (Aug 12).

The key to education is: Parents and educators working together to find the child’s strong and weak points. Homework can then be customised to achieve the best result.

Therefore, homework quantity should be flexible.

Exercises to sharpen precision in calculation are necessary, though. The key is to keep children interested. The exercises can be done in different ways, such as using games or pictures.
