More clarity on taxi availability standards needed

I refer to the reports “Taxi drivers ‘need more help to meet LTA’s availability standards’”, “Two years on, some taxi operators still missing the mark” and “Stricter taxi availability standards next year” (Nov 27).

The operators and drivers now have different standards and opinions with regard to achieving the taxi availability standards. To avoid confusion, the Land Transport Authority should publish clearer definitions and the method of measuring the taxi availability standards, for common use and better understanding.
