NEA, ICA should help reduce emissions from daily Causeway jam

I refer to the letter “Over 8,000 complaints on idle engines” (Dec 3).

The 8,000-plus complaints that were received over three years are nothing compared with the thousands of vehicles with engines idling in the daily jam at the Woodlands Checkpoint.

The situation should be improved if the National Environment Agency (NEA) is serious about exhaust emissions. I hope that the NEA and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority can work together to help reduce the exhaust emissions and health hazards at the Causeway and improve the environment there.
