NLB must learn from saga, repair relationships
I applaud the Communications and Information Minister for asking the National Library Board (NLB) not to pulp two books that were withdrawn.
I applaud the Communications and Information Minister for asking the National Library Board (NLB) not to pulp two books that were withdrawn.
This paves the way for it to rebuild public trust and reconcile with writers and certain segments of the public. The NLB must learn lessons from the saga and repair relationships.
The controversy should not drag on or, worse, be blown out of proportion such that Singapore’s literary field may be mired in a downward spiral of discord.
I hope the about-turn will create goodwill among writers, luminaries of the literary scene and members of the public.
