No need to reinvent the wheel for cashless payments

I refer to the article “Cashless mobile payments not being used widely” (July 3). We in Singapore are always trying to reinvent the wheel.

With a bit of humility 20 years ago, we could have asked Hong Kong’s Octopus card operator how it did cashless transactions, instead of going with the EZ-Link card, more cash cards, and other ideas.
