Not all patients want to go back to same medical team

I refer to the report “Study explores viability of getting treatment by same doctors, nurses” (Oct 5).

I believe patients would agree that they only want to go back to the same doctor or team of nurses if they are good at their work. For example, when treating patients with chronic conditions, are the doctors and nurses able to convince the patient or the family members of the necessity and effectiveness of the recommended treatment?

Not all patients, especially elderly ones, are fluent in English. Some healthcare workers may also be able to communicate well with the patients’ families, but not with the patients themselves.

One can imagine the stress on a patient’s emotional and mental well-being if they have to keep going back to a medical team that they do not feel comfortable with. This is a perspective the researchers may have missed.
