Onus is on riders to ensure proper parking of bicycles
I refer to the letter “Enforce proper, legal parking of rental bicycles” (March 23). Let us not misinterpret such illegal parking as being the rental company’s fault.

It is similar to an inconsiderate driver parking indiscriminately for his or her convenience. Would we point the finger at the particular brand of vehicle, or the driver?
Be it a rental or personal bicycle, it is the rider’s responsibility to ensure proper and safe parking. I can safely say many drivers and riders are not ignorant of the law, but may still break it.
