Parking needs of HDB residents have priority

Housing and Development Board (HDB) car parks are provided primarily to cater for HDB residents’ parking needs; hence, we accord priority to them. The parking lots will be made available to visitors only after residents’ needs have been met.
In car parks with very strong demand, parking lots will be reserved and painted in red, so that season ticket holders, who use the car park daily, can be assured of a parking lot.
The car park Mr Lim cited is a popular surface car park near Bishan Town Centre, with high demand from both residents and visitors.
Arising from residents’ feedback that they had difficulty getting a parking lot when they came home, we reviewed the situation and, since May, have converted 15 of the 49 lots to season parking for residents.
The remaining 34 lots are still available for short-term parking. Visitors who are unable to find a parking lot here can park at the nearby multistorey car park, where ample lots for short-term parking are available.
