Pedestrians need more protection against cyclists
I agree with the writer of “Rules against cycling on footpaths need to be enforced” (Sept 2). Unless the rules are enforced, cyclists will continue to ride nonchalantly on footpaths.

In cities such as Hong Kong, I see policemen on patrol. Here, I see them only when an incident has occurred.
We must also remember that bicycles are not covered by insurance. Innocent pedestrians who suffer injury would also have to incur medical bills. So, will the authorities look into this issue?
