We thank Mr Ivan Goh for his letter “Form hybrid S-League of pro, semi-pro teams” (Feb 16). The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and the S-League are constantly looking for ways to improve the league.

FAS president Zainudin Nordin recently disclosed plans for a strategic review of the S-League this year to identify its role in Singapore’s football ecosystem in the future and improve the experience for fans, players and clubs. This will be a thorough process involving all stakeholders to ensure a better, stronger S-League emerges and, most importantly, that it becomes even more attractive to fans.

As Mr Goh pointed out, it is imperative that the S-League support the national team by generating local players who can bring Singapore success. We reassure him this has always been, and will continue to be, an important objective.

We are grateful for the continued support of fans such as Mr Goh and always welcome constructive feedback and recommendations.
