Preserve as much as we can, specially in Mandai

I have been driving daily due to my job, and I see many developments around Singapore, trees being felled and concrete everywhere, so I agree that the “Mandai area should remain untouched for our next generation” (Sept 15).

The flora and fauna in Mandai’s natural forests include precious species. Nowadays, children hardly get the chance to even see frogs, dragonflies, butterflies and bees.

We must preserve as much as we can wherever there is construction, and I appreciate our Government’s efforts to plant and replant trees. Still, once the forests and wildlife are touched, they would be gone.

I hope we do as much as we can to let our next generation have a taste of nature by saving our special animal and plant species.
