Put Pioneer Generation logo on PAssion Silver Card

The authorities seem to genuinely welcome feedback to improve on how they serve seniors, and I have a suggestion as to how services for seniors can be integrated further (“48 places islandwide to activate PAssion Silver Card”; Jan 11).

I am thankful for the PAssion Silver Card. Previously I had to carry two cards: A PAssion card and a TransitLink card. Now, I carry one combined card.

This is more convenient for seniors and would reduce the number of lost cards or cases of forgetting to bring the right cards along if they are not used often.

It is a good, albeit complicated, effort because both are smart cards carrying data that must be merged. My request is simpler to execute.

I still carry the Pioneer Generation Card, which is only a plastic card that identifies us as pioneers who contributed to Singapore. Can we not print the PAssion Silver Card with the Pioneer Generation logo to identify pioneers?

The cost would be minimal, as the technology and processes are in place. The only extra effort would be to supply the list of Pioneer Generation cardholders to the Transport Ministry and the People’s Association.

This would demonstrate that the authorities want the best for our seniors.
