Recycling of organic waste into compost can be part of mandate too
I refer to the letter “Singapore’s green environment: Don’t forget quality of the soil, too” (Jan 22). Currently, there are horticultural waste recycling facilities at Sarimbun Recycling Park. Sadly, the recycling mandate does not emphasise the recycling of organic matter into compost, and we may soon lose these businesses. What will Singapore do with this green waste then? Burn them?
