Responsibility key in allowing domestic pets in public flats

I refer to this week’s Talking Point, “Pet peeves”. Domestic pets should be allowed in public flats as long as the owner is responsible and takes ownership. Owners should be educated in all the areas of animal concerns.

More animals are being put down yearly, mostly because of people’s ignorance and irresponsibility and their taking this avoidable avenue for granted. The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority and animal welfare groups should explore ways to prevent this.

Animals, too, deserve to be accommodated in whatever space is available.
