We thank Ms Audrey Yang for her letter “Have a space for former Rochor residents to gather” (Jan 3).

In relocating the residents of Rochor Centre, the Government recognises the importance of preserving the community ties built up over the years. Hence, a designated replacement housing project has been built for these residents, named Kallang Trivista, which is located near the Kallang MRT Station.

Close to nine in 10 of the households from Rochor Centre have chosen Kallang Trivista as their new home. Some of them have also opted to jointly select their replacement flats with other Rochor residents, so that they can live closer to one another in the project. This has helped to keep the community intact.

As with other new HDB housing projects, Kallang Trivista is designed to encourage community interaction. On the roof gardens, residents will find facilities such as an activity plaza, community garden, pavilions, fitness stations and playgrounds.

We encourage residents to make use of these facilities to meet regularly and strengthen their neighbourly bonds.
