SingPost has reminded postmen to deliver larger items to recipient’s home

We refer to Mr Tan Kim Hock’s letter “SingPost promised to do better, but did not deliver” (April 5). We regret to learn that a corner of the box was slightly bent when he retrieved it from the letter box.

We apologise to him for the inconvenience caused. Our recent field inspections have shown the mail delivery performance in his area to be good. In view of his feedback, we will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Unlike for registered articles, ordinary items are delivered to the letter boxes. Items that cannot be placed in the letter boxes, that is, larger than 380mm x 270mm x 110mm, would be delivered to the doorstep by the postman.

Nonetheless, we have noted there may be instances that items may not be retrieved easily from the letter boxes and have since reminded all postmen to deliver such items to the recipient’s home. We thank Mr Tan for his feedback.
