SMEs need more resources to tackle cyber attacks
We have witnessed the Government’s efforts to tighten its cyber defences by separating the Internet from government networks, to secure them against attacks.

So it is a relief to know that the latest global cyber attacks did not affect any government agency’s operations.
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), however, are more vulnerable to hackers, owing to a lack of infrastructure and resources to tackle such threats (SMEs tightening cyber defences in view of threats; May 16).
To make matters worse, some shopping centres were affected, so the attacks did cause some degree of alarm.
More can be done to rectify this issue among such companies. For instance, there could be more talks and funding to help firms.
On the other hand, they must also do due diligence and consistent checks to prevent such attacks.
