Stadium roof did not light up at NDP due to software glitch

After a decade away, the National Day Parade (NDP) returned to the National Stadium on 9 August 2016.

The Singapore flag was supposed to be projected onto the roof of the National Stadium at the end of the parade. However, this did not happen as the National Stadium’s roof lighting system encountered a software defect. This software defect had not occurred before and has since been rectified.

Nonetheless, the Singapore Sports Hub and the NDP 2016 Executive Committee are heartened that celebrations went on smoothly and would like to thank participants, partner organisations, volunteers and sponsors for making our nation’s 51st birthday celebrations at the National Stadium a resounding success.
