Train disruptions: Compensation should come in form of free rides
I refer to the letter “Compensate commuters for repeated disruptions” (March 5). There is no point in imposing a fine on the train operators or in compensating each affected commuter.
I refer to the letter “Compensate commuters for repeated disruptions” (March 5). There is no point in imposing a fine on the train operators or in compensating each affected commuter.
The former does not benefit the affected commuters, and as for the latter, there is no way to prove whether an affected commuter actually took a cab or the free shuttle service.
What is required is for the train operators to provide free rides during the affected hours for, say, three or four days.
This would compensate a large number of commuters using that service.
