Translate National Day songs into Mandarin, Malay, Tamil

It is heartening to hear citizens singing National Day songs on the radio to celebrate the occasion. Would it not be better, however, for them to sing the songs in the languages in which they are more proficient?

It is heartening to hear citizens singing National Day songs on the radio to celebrate the occasion. Would it not be better, however, for them to sing the songs in the languages in which they are more proficient?

Language helps us to acquire and then use concept knowledge to make meaning of our perceptions, and thus plays a role in emotion.

If some National Day songs were to be translated into Mandarin, Malay and Tamil, they would better strike a chord with those who are more proficient in these languages.

For example, translating Count On Me, Singapore into “kao wo ba, xin jia po” (靠我吧, 新加坡) would generate a stronger sense of patriotism in those who are more proficient in Mandarin.
