Uphold patriotism to maintain Singapore’s success

I always feel a sense of pride and belonging whenever I see young children wearing red and white as they celebrate our National Day every year (Many firsts for spectators as NDP returns to Marina Bay; Aug 10).

I always feel a sense of pride and belonging whenever I see young children wearing red and white as they celebrate our National Day every year (Many firsts for spectators as NDP returns to Marina Bay; Aug 10).

Not only do Singaporeans from all races and walks of life do so, but there are also non-Singaporeans who dress likewise to join in the birthday mood and celebrations.

Equally heartening is seeing opposition parties like the Workers’ Party organise National Day activities for their members and constituents. This is a manifestation of patriotism shared by all Singaporeans regardless of party affiliation. All of us must uphold this value to ensure our country’s continued prosperity.
