The Police have both male and female officers who are trained to investigate sexual assault cases and provide victims with the care they need (“Are there trained female officers for victims of sexual crime?”; May 23, online).

Victims can request to speak to an investigation officer of the same gender after making a police report. There are also dedicated interview rooms to provide privacy so that victims feel as comfortable as possible during the interview process.

The Police assure the public that victim care is a key aspect of sexual assault investigations. Such cases are handled sensitively with a victim-centric approach.
