After reading the report “Man in charge of controversial SportsHub pitch resigns” (Dec 6), I wonder if the rye and blue grass had been tested in countries with a climate similar to the Republic’s before officially being introduced for use here.
Or are Singapore and the S$1.3 billion Sports Hub guinea pigs in that regard, and the attempt has failed to provide satisfactory results?

It is important to ensure that new kinds of products and technology are tested, safe and satisfactory before being accepted for use, to prevent such problems.
