Why install water coolers when we can just use our water bottles?

Why waste money to install more water coolers as suggested in “Install water coolers at more public places” (June 28)? PUB’s water supply exceeds the World Health Organisation’s quality standards, so let us fill our bottles with tap water.

In American homes, by contrast, there may be a water filter below the kitchen basin. A friend of mine further uses a filter jug and boils the water, not trusting the water supply.

In any case, the water supply to water coolers in Singapore would also be from the tap.
