Widen congested stretch of AYE

I refer to the article “Widening work for stretch of PIE completed” (Aug 8). It is encouraging to know the Land Transport Authority has enlarged its older roads. It should consider widening the stretch of the Ayer Rajah Expressway between Clementi Road and Teban Gardens.

It is the only stretch of the AYE that serves residents of the west and Jurong Industrial Estate, the largest industrial park in Singapore. But it is often congested and there has been an increase in the volume of heavy vehicles there, especially during peak hours. Perhaps it is time the LTA widened the AYE as well.
