Widen social circle to take advantage of Warehouse Club savings

I refer to the letter “Warehouse Club promotes unfair advantage” (Dec 16). One of the reasons Singapore is so regulated is because reactive and preventive measures are required in addressing complaints, including unfounded ones.

The writer should get to know his neighbours better, have a larger circle of friends or speak with his relatives so they can together buy in bulk.

NTUC FairPrice’s latest initiative promotes not only prudent savings, but also cohesion and bonding among neighbours, friends and relatives.

It is myopic to suggest that one’s car size is proportional to one’s buying power and that only retailers, resellers and the rich would benefit from this initiative.

While Joo Koon is at the westernmost end of the East-West MRT Line, so is Changi Airport in the east, but can only the rich or those with bigger cars benefit from that airport?

Kudos to FairPrice for coming up with this initiative after scouring the world to study similar concepts and to bring back those more aligned to our lifestyles and needs.

I am not associated with FairPrice, but I urge Singaporean residents to be a member and take advantage of the savings offered at Warehouse Club.

And while they are at it, why not organise a gathering where whole groups can have a nice time bonding at the warehouse?
