Winning honours for country must be nationalistic
I refer to the commentary “Success this time around is that much sweeter because it’s home-grown” (Aug 15). There are differing thoughts on this, but I hope the discussion will not go down to a personal level, which is unproductive.

Winning honours for a country is and must be nationalistic. One must feel one belongs first, no matter the situation, and then the motivation to contribute. If that applies to our new talented citizens, then why not? If the sequence is reversed, then the feeling would be somewhat odd.
