Work together for better facilities in Pioneer
I refer to the report “Clinic, hawker centre and 500-seat theatre at new CC in Hougang” (Sept 21) and applaud the fact that the Community Club is the first of its kind.

I refer to the report “Clinic, hawker centre and 500-seat theatre at new CC in Hougang” (Sept 21) and applaud the fact that the Community Club is the first of its kind.
In contrast, in Jurong West Street 61, a plot of land beside Pioneer Mall that is bounded by blocks of flats will house a proposed market and hawker centre, and only that.
Meanwhile, a two-storey childcare centre will be built on another plot of land (along Jurong West Street 65), in land-scarce Singapore.
Can our agencies work together and propose better design of facilities in new premises, such as for a new CC, in Pioneer estate?
