Wrong to assume there are only two camps in GE

Some Singaporeans have requested opposition parties to coordinate and avoid three-cornered fights in the coming elections, and hence for Singapore to have a more efficient election process.

They have mistaken the elections to be a battle between the People’s Action Party and everyone else. It assumes Singaporeans do not care about what each candidate stands for and assumes there are only two camps: White and the rest.

I think Singaporeans are more complex. We have adopted the British first-past-the-post system. Voters put a cross next to their favoured candidate based on the candidates’ ideals.

Let us not allow the louder minority to taint the coming election process.
