Yearly top-ups can spur more to use SkillsFuture credits
The SkillsFuture Credit scheme, which started in January, provides funding to support Singaporeans aged 25 and above who are looking to improve their skills and training, so as to equip themselves for foreseeable industry changes and challenges.

A few years ago, I enrolled myself into a short course to keep myself relevant to job requirements and the job market.
Thanks to government support in courses offered by the Workforce Development Agency and the Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme under the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, I am able to attend classes at a fraction of the total course fee, and the SkillsFuture Credit is going to further reduce the amount I need to fork out from my pocket.
I have a suggestion to encourage the use of SkillsFuture Credit: The Government should annually top up the SkillsFuture Credit accounts of Singaporeans to S$500 if it has been depleted during the year.
This should spur to action those who are initially not keen on taking courses, after they see their friends or relatives continue to reap the benefits year after year.
