WASHINGTON — In the midst of a measles outbreak, President Barack Obama is telling parents to get their kids vaccinated.
Mr Obama says those who don't get their shots can pose a risk to infants and other people who can't get vaccinated.
The president spoke in an interview with NBC yesterday (Feb 1). The interview is airing today, but the network released excerpts in advance.
More than 100 cases of the measles have been reported in the US since last month. Many cases have been traced directly or indirectly to Disneyland in California.
Mr Obama says measles outbreaks are preventable. He says he understands that some families are concerned about vaccinations, but the science on them is “pretty indisputable”. AP
