VANCOUVER — Canadian authorities say a United Airlines flight was diverted to Vancouver due to a security concern and a passenger was taken into custody.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) say United Airlines flight 1104, bound for Denver from Anchorage, Alaska, landed safely at Vancouver International Airport early yesterday (Jan 9).

The RCMP did not release details on what prompted the security concern or additional information on the person arrested and whether charges will be filed.

United Airlines says the plane was carrying 131 passengers and a crew of six.

The RCMP says operations at the Vancouver airport were not affected. The airline says it is working to rebook passengers on an alternate flight. AP
