The two are Lim Saw Gek and her son, Neoh Jai Jun. Their ages were not given.
According to the ministry, their remains are currently being held at at Police General Hospital in Bangkok for post mortem.
“Two Malaysians were also injured in the incident. Mr Tan Rui Hun is currently admitted to Hua Chiew Hospital to receive further treatment, while Miss Tan Kim Siok was discharged earlier after receiving treatment,” it said in a statement today.
In an earlier statement, the ministry urged Malaysian in the Thai capital to follow the instructions given by authorities there and to contact their embassy if they require assistance.
A bomb explosion at the Erawan shrine in the heart of Bangkok’s central business district yesterday killed at least 21 people and injured dozens more.
Thai authorities are still hunting for the bombers, whom they believed had targeted foreigners in the attack.
Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility, the initial comments by Thai police and military cast immediate focus on the kingdom’s rival political factions.
