Bhutan’s King and Queen share photos of six-month-old prince

BHUTAN — Photos of Bhutan’s Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck were shared by his parents on Facebook on Tuesday (Aug 9),

The pictures showed the six-months-old baby boy with his parents, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema, during a royal visit to Bhutan’s Bumthang district.

This is the prince’s first visit to Bumthang, the ancestral maternal home of Queen Pema. He was greeted by hundreds of Bhutanese, who also came to welcome their King and Queen, said the Facebook pages of King Wangchuk, 36, and Queen Pema, 26.

The Facebook posts garnered a combined more than 4,000 shares as of Wednesday 7pm.

Since the prince was born on Feb 5, he has made several appearance on his parents’ Facebook pages. On Feb 9, the couple shared the prince’s first official photograph, taken in Losar Kupar from Lingkana Palace.
