KUALA LUMPUR — Diagnosed with terminal stage cancer, 11-year-old Muhammad Danish Maarif loves Lego but could not visit his dream toy park in Johor Baru.

With the cancer spread all over his body, doctors strongly advised against letting him travel.

After several Malaysians heard about Danish’s story, they decided to make his wish come true: If Danish could not go to Legoland, then they would bring Legoland to his home in Selangor.

They turned up in the teen’s home in Kuala Selangor earlier on Wednesday (Sept 28) with toys contributed by Legoland Malaysia Resort and others, and proceeded to turn his room into a miniature Lego wonderland. They filled it with Lego-styled life-size figures of Darth Vader and Stormtroopers among others.

Their efforts were rewarded with a big smile from Danish.

“Despite not being able to bring Danish to Legoland Malaysia Resort, we hope we were able to bring Legoland Malaysia Resort to him,” Young Pil Kim, interim general manager at Legoland Malaysia Resort, said in a statement. “I am really thankful to the people involved in helping Danish and bringing this matter to the public.”

“We teamed up with Legoland and also LOM-LUG, the Lego user group in Malaysia, to come to his house and throw him a Lego building party — we build with him and share his imagination,” Dick Yoong, Lego Malaysia country manager, said. THE MALAY MAIL ONLINE
