KUALA LUMPUR — It is time for Putrajaya to release incarcerated opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, says former UMNO leader Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
The former Batu Kawan UMNO deputy chief said Anwar has already paid the price for his crime and could now play a major role in reviving the current political scene.
“Anwar has already been punished and I feel he should be out of the Sungai Buloh prison to revive the nation’s political scenario.
“Let our political landscape be more colourful. What should we fear if we are administering the country responsibly,” Mr Khairuddin said in a statement today.
The 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) critic, recently released from detention under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act, 2012, said Anwar would play an effective “check and balance” to the country’s administration, as opposition leader. THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER
