KUALA LUMPUR — Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim received a jet on his 31st birthday today (June 30), according to a post uploaded onto the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.

Pictures of Mr Ismail receiving the jet were also uploaded on the Facebook page.

The caption accompanying the photographs said the jet is a gift from his father Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

Mr Ismail also wrote that he would take his father’s advice and donate cattle to all districts in the state for the breaking of fast during this Ramadan period.

“I have decided, after receiving advice and views from my father HRH the Sultan, to donate cattle to all the districts for breaking fast, and also to contribute to the orphans and the less fortunate around Johor,” he wrote.

The crown prince also thanked those who wished him on his birthday.

Mr Ismail was in the news recently over a spat with federal minister Nazri Aziz over the right of a member of the royalty to speak critically of the executive arm.

Mr Nazri, who is the minister of Tourism and Culture, had chided the prince for commenting on politics and said the royal risked getting “whacked”, because members of the monarchy are meant to stay above politics.

Mr Nazri’s remarks were in response to Mr Ismail’s criticism of Prime Minister Najib Razak who failed to turn up at the “Nothing to Hide” forum on 1Malaysia Development Bhd on June 5. THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER
