KUALA LUMPUR — A man died in an explosion on Tuesday afternoon (Oct 25) at a petrol station in Taman Mount Austin, Johor.

An officer at the Civil Defence Department’s Johor Baru district, Lt (PA) Mohd Aziz Jupri reportedly confirmed the death of the station’s attendant Mohd Faizal Mazlan, who was believed to have been near the petrol station’s natural gas tank for Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) that exploded.

Lt Aziz was also reported by national news agency Bernama as saying that the police have taken the 33-year-old deceased victim’s body to Hospital Sultan Ismail.

He said an emergency call was received at 3.01pm, adding that the Malaysian Civil Defence Force had despatched 13 personnel, one ambulance, one Toyota Hilux truck and two motorcycles to rush to the scene.

“The source has not been identified, it is still under the Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia’s investigation... we found that the NGV tank exploded,” he was quoted telling Bernama. MALAY MAIL ONLINE
