KUALA LUMPUR — The Immigration Department of Malaysia is going after agents, masterminds and syndicates involved in bringing in illigel immgrants via the main national entry points.

Its director-general Mr Mustafar Ali said the department would seek the cooperation of other authorities such as the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to detect the illegal entries of foreign nationals via main entry points such as the KL International Airport (KLIA).

“I have personally met with the police and other authorities to ensure no aliens break through (the main entry points),” he told Bernama.

He was commenting on a media report that a group of Immigration enforcement officers had reneged by accepting from RM200 (S$66.65) to RM2,500 to allow the exit and entry of more than 16,000 foreign nationals from numerous nations.
