KUALA LUMPUR — Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Aziz has described North Korea as a “rogue nation” following its allegations against Malaysia over the murder of Kim Jong-Nam.

Nazri said on Thursday (Feb 23) the country, which has repeatedly accused Malaysia of conspiracy over the death of the estranged half brother to Kim Jong-un, must understand that authorities here were abiding by internationally-accepted procedures for criminal investigations.

“They (North Korea) are under delusion, half truth and lies. Malaysia does not have any role in this (killing).

“I personally feel that North Korea is a rogue country. No respect for international law,” he told reporters when met after an event on Thursday.

Pyongyang previously sought to block the autopsy on Jong-Nam’s body and tried to claim it ahead of his family members.

Jong-Nam had been the heir apparent to the late dictator Kim Jong-Il, but lost his place in the succession after he was caught sneaking out of North Korea.

On Thursday, Mr Nazri also warned Malaysian tourists against travelling to North Korea as their safety might not be guaranteed.

“This country is a unpredictable nation. They can do all the impossible things. I ask for Malaysians not to go there,” Mr Nazri said.

He then assured the public that Jong-Nam’s murder was not a true reflection of the country’s security.

Jong-Nam was attacked by two women at KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) on Feb 13 while waiting for a flight to Macau. He died on the way to hospital.

Police have so far arrested four people including three foreigners over the killing. MALAY MAIL ONLINE
